Xmas 2013: Laura Mercier Christmas 2013 Holiday Colour Collection

While we are still preparing for Halloween, some of the beauty brands have already started to release special gift sets gradually to get us in the mood of Christmas shopping. I have already seen various Benefits special tin collection in John Lewis. Another brand that is doing the same is Laura Mercier.

I was browsing in Selfridges the other day, when I walked past the Laura Mercier counter, I spotted last year's bestsellers: mini hand cream set, the mini body soufflé set and their mini candle set. But more importantly, the desk next to these are full of mini makeup sets! There were sets of mini lip glosses, mini eyeshadow sticks, mini eye pencils, and various eye shadow trios! I asked one of the Laura Mercier girls, "Are these your Christmas sets?" She said yes. I said "I don't seem to remember there is makeup minis last year" The girl said "That's it true. They are all new and so many of them as well!"

I am sure these sets will sell out like hot cakes once the words are out there, I could not resist while the stock is still high and piling in front of me. I knew I would regret if I don't get it now. So I have picked up the Mini Lip Glace Collection and the Shimmer Effect Mini Caviar Stick Eye Colour Collection.

Mini Lip Glace Collection

A set of 5 mini Lipglosses (colours from left to right):

Azalea - pale nude pink
Camellia - bright pink
Bonbon - coral
Grenadine - bright red with gold shimmer
Poppy - bright deep rose red

Apart from Bonbon, all the others are limited edition colours.

They are extremely pigmented, not sticky at all, and have their delicious signature warm vanilla scent. They can be worn alone or  on top of lipsticks. Perfect to wear red lips but not quite brave enough to wear a full bright red lipsticks. This set has the perfect colours for Autumn/Winter.
The mini Lip Glace set has a nude colour variation called "Bare Nudes".

These colours are all in their permanent line, not limited edition colours. However, it is great way to try out some of their signature eyeshadow sticks. The formula is creamy, easy to blend with fingers, and very wearable daily colours.
